Saying Farewell to Wish Rock Studio

I've been showing some of my oil landscape paintings at Wish Rock Studio for the last few years and am very sorry to see it close. The gallery is housed in an old home and has several small rooms and a particularly warm and inviting feeling.

Peter and Sandra Waldner, the gallery owners, have done a beautiful job of showcasing his work and the work of a handful of artists with a variety of styles. Most of the work featured the beauty of Shelter Island, where the gallery is located, as well as the Hamptons and other scenic beach areas in the Northeast.

I urge anyone living near the area to take advantage of the on-going closing sale with prices reduced 20%. The sale ends with a farewell reception from 2-5 on December 31. Since I'll be out that way over Christmas visiting my daughter in Sag Harbor nearby, I'll unfortunately miss the final party but I hope some of you will make it over there.

I've created a Wish Rock Collection which will show you the paintings on sale at Wish Rock. They will only be on sale until the 31st. You can find the Collection by clicking on Paintings at the top of the main page on this site. Others work can be found at the Wish Rock Studio website: http://www.wishrockstudio.com

(Note: not all of the paintings of mine on the Wish Rock website are still available.)

A Painting from the Rye shore

This weekend on Friday and Saturday, I will be setting up a display of varied work for a holiday sale I've been participating in for most of the past 18 years. The organzation of women which is called the TWIG of Westchester raises money for good works in the local region.  For years, I've been promising myself to have some paintings on hand of the Rye waterfront but somehow they didn't materialize. Well, finally I've completed two small oils. Both are evening scenes and not summer scenes. I found the sky the most interesting part of the landscape both times I visited, so that's what I chose to paint. This is one of them.

The TWIG Holiday Fair information is posted in my Events Section. Here's a link to it:
