Fall can be quite a spectacular time when you live in New York State. The trees as they evolve from myriad shades of green to the warm palette of yellows, oranges, and reds that develop slowly as the season progresses are a wonderful change for an artist who paints the landscape.
This painting of Constitution Marsh on the Hudson River from the Boscobel estate was painted during the second week of October. By now there is still more color in the landscape and leaves are beginning to fall. My feeling about this painting is that I want to see it bigger and that I will do a larger version over the winter.
