Final Touches On A Plein Air Painting

I can't think of a better way to spend a stormy day filled with a combination of snow and sleet than going back to a painting of a sunny, warm day and putting the finishing touches on it.

The painting above called "Above It All" was painted on location at Manor Park in Larchmont, NY, a wonderful little strip of a park that I've been going to since I was 11 years old. Working on that subject transported me to that time and place and left me feeling perfectly content to be shut in for the day because of hazardous driving conditions.

Mom,

I may be one of your first comments. Not sure. But I love your blogs and you are by far my favorite artist. It always amazes me the emotion that you are able to capture in your work.

Blogs are fun! and hard! and I want you to read one that I just wrote. I actually have a few but I just wrote this one because I was feeling inspired this morning. Maybe because it is Valentines Day! Happy Valentines Day Mom!

Love Wendy

Hi Phyllis,
I saw your blog posted on Clint's newsletter.. Occassionally I like to look into the life of other artists. It gives me ideas and inspiration. Your perch looks lovely and warm but lonely. I love the beautiful greens in the small area below the rocks! I also LOVED reading your daughter's comments. That tells me that you are certainly NOT lonely but well loved.
Congrats! Stay warm.
